With over twenty years behind the lens, AJ96 is built on observation: photographing people and places as they are, in the light that is actually there. Bold, evocative pictures that feel lived rather than arranged.

Based in the North West and working across the UK, I bring a documentary eye to editorial, brand and personal projects. The technical side runs deep, from aerial imaging to lidar, but it stays in service of the picture rather than on display.

I can join a project at any stage, from planning and location scouting through to post-production, and I am used to working to a brief and a budget without flattening the thing that made it worth doing.
